FACIAL TREATMENT TECHNIQUE  

 1. Cleansing :


This is the first essential step of facial it removes dirt, make-up and prepares the skin for analysis. Therapist should wash his/her hand with antiseptic soap for hygiene purpose before the treatment starts. Take appropriate amount of cleanser on middle of the palm and spread it all over the palm, cleanse the face with effleurage action (circular rotation with outward soothing action) without losing contact.

- Soothing circular action – start applying on the chest muscle (Deltoid) in  circular manner up to clavicle bone - 10 times - Without breaking the flow, slid alternate palm in upward direction on middle neck muscle (Platisma) and lateral neck muscle (Sternocleidomastoid).   - Alternate scissor stroke on lower jaw (Mandible)-make scissor of fingers start from the end point of left jaw just below the ear lobe up to bellow lobe   of right ear this stroke will done by right hand simultaneously do with left hand vise-versa - 10 times. - Circular rotation around the lips (Orbicularis oris) with finger tips in outward direction - 10times.- Circular rotation on chicks (Buccinator, Zygomaticus Risorius) with both palms simultaneously. 10 times.- Circular rotation on the nose (Nasalis) with 2 fingers in upward direction - 5 - times.- Outward circular stroke with ring finger with very light pressure on the eyes (Orbicularis oculi) - 10 times- Pinching stroke on Eyebrows - 3 times.- Circular rotation on the forehead with 4 finger followed by tapping,  pressing with finger tips ends at the temporal region - 10 times- Circular rotation & pressing with the help of thumb, index & middle finger for ears - 3 times
Deep cleansing : It is the second step of facial for cleansing of superficial Epidermal layer of skin, it contains steaming, exfoliation (scrubbing), extraction of comedones.

Steaming :

  The purpose of steam is to open the pores and remove dirt and excess oil or sebum. Keep steamer 15 to 18 inches from the face and give Steam for about 5minutes according to type and sensitivity of skin, use eye pads to avoid direct contact of steam with the eyes. After steaming clean the comedones with cotton (do not use metal implement, it will left the mark)

Steaming time as per skin type -
1. Normal/ Dry skin- 2 to 3 minute.
2. Oily/ combination skin- 5minute (ozone steam- ozone (O3) it has antibacterial healing property.

2. Scrubbing :

To exfoliate the dead cells. Apply scrub on face and neck. With wet finger tips do circular massage with very light pressure on face and neck. Avoid using scrub under the eyes because as the skin in this area is very delicate. Don’t do scrubbing with pressure, as it may damage the superficial epidermal layer. After 5 to 7minutes wash or wipe off the scrub with wet cotton completely.

3. Massage :

Massage basically a rhythmic action on skin according to muscle origin and insertion to improve / stimulate the blood and lymph circulation.
All strokes are effleurage (soothing action) and petrisage (vigorous action with pressure) with Facial Massage oil. Massage is always done in upward and outward direction according to origin & insertion of the muscles.

1. Effleurage soothing action – It is same as cleansing strokes without loosing the contact 3 times. This stroke is for spreading the massage product evenly on 

    face.
2. Petrisage action- same as cleansing stroke but do with lesser pressure

a. Take small quantity of massage product on palm, spread evenly  allover the palm and apply in circular rotation manner on deltoid muscle (shoulder) 10 times. Followed by half circle rotation on the shoulder - 10 times
b. Upward lifting stroke on middle of neck (Platisma muscle) lateral (Sternocleidomastoid muscle) - 10 times.
c. Scissor stroke on mandible bone (lower jaw) - 10 times
d. Make small circle with the help of middle, ring & small finger on double chin (Mentalis) - 3 times
e. Circular rotation on lips - 10 times
f. Make small circles around the lips (Orbicularis oris) and lift with light pressure - 10 times
g. Make a circular rotation and followed by alternate palm lifting on cheek (Buccinator, Zygomaticus, Risorius) ends towards the ear. 3 times
h. Circular rotation on nose (Nasalis) with 2 fingers in upward direction. 3 times
i. Circular effleurage around the eyes (Orbicularis occuli muscle) with ring finger with light pressure. Followed by small circles around the eye. 10 times
j. Circular rotation with fingers on forehead (Frontalis muscle), followed by zigzag action, uplift in-between the eyebrow (Corrugator, Procerus) 10times
k. Circular massage on ear pinna. 3times
l. End of the massage strokes.

Massage for 5 - 20 minutes based on time availability.
 

4. Mask :

after finishing the massage place a tissue paper on face, make a small whole near the nose on tissue paper it absorbs the excess oil then remove the paper by rolling in upward direction. Then apply face mask/ pack.

- It is for tightening the skin and reduces fine wrinkles.
- Choose the mask which is appropriate for the skin type.
- Prepare the mask in small bowl
- Apply mask/pack with clean brush at medium thickness in upward direction avoiding the under eye area.                       
- Place wet cotton pad on eye 
- Keep it for 20 minutes. Wash or wipe off with wet cotton.

5. Toner :

Dab cotton in the Toner & apply on the face in upward direction to close the pores.
 

 

6. Moisturizer :

Take an appropriate quantity of suitable moisturizer on palm according to the skin type, spread it all over the palm and apply on face in upward direction to  retain the  oil-water balance of skin.

POST THERAPY


Tell the guest to relax to 5min after the therapy
Drinks lots of water during the day

Avoid soaps or any medicated washes for the day

Use sunblock with SPF if exposing to sunlight
